Relief Veterinarian Needed

Coast Veterinary Services in Scotts Valley is in need of a relief vet to work a couple days a week for the next 6 weeks while we support one of our vets with an emergency family leave situation.

The dates we need coverage:
May 7th
May 8th
May 13th
May 14th
May 17th
May 20th
May 31st
June 3rd
June 5th
June 10th

Normal workday - 8:30-5:00pm, 30 minute appointments, lunch from 12-1:30pm.
You will be working with 3-4 others doctors, you will have 2 dedicated technicians/vet assistants. Pay is $1000-$1200 a shift.

All of our equipment is brand new as of 2021, including laser, ultrasound, digital radiology (dental and full body), digital cytology, dental machine, oxygen concentrator, surgical equipment, video otoscope, in house Idexx laboratory machines, computer systems with cloud-based software, and much more.

This is a part-time or full-time position, again depending on the right candidate. We are flexible. Organization and multi-tasking are skills you will need. Good communication skills are also necessary to fit into this position, with both staff members and clients. We focus on preventative care as well as problems, and client education is a big part of what we do.

About the Job

As an associate veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing high quality veterinary care as a general practitioner. We are looking for a diligent DVM who aims to provide compassionate care, while efficiently communicating with clients. We offer longer than average appointment times in order to ensure that cases can be thoroughly worked up and clients can have the time to have all of their concerns addressed. We are looking for a veterinarian with a calm demeanor who can act as a leader within our team. The ideal candidate is comfortable working solo, but also thrives within a solid collegial support system. Our DVMs work as a team to manage cases, always aiming to provide seamless continuity of care. 

About the Hospital

SVVC has been an established clinic for 60+ years serving Scotts Valley and the surrounding communities. Our current remodel is helping to modernize the clinic and improve the clinic’s aesthetic, functionality and flow while improving the experience for both patients and clients. We offer a wide range of services from general practice, soft tissue surgery, dentals, ultrasounds and laser therapy. We also offer in house specialist services including orthopedic surgery, ultrasounds, and cardiology. The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 7:30-5pm and does not have on-call services.

We are using space in the Pawsitive Pets Mobile Vet clinic, which is located at 3720 Hatton Barn, The Barnyard, Suite G17 Carmel CA 93923. The office is located next to The Carmel Roasting Company.
